Appellation Village of the Côte de Nuits. The appellation is harvested in the villages of Fixin, Brochon, Premeaux, Comblanchien and Corgoloin. The hillsides of Comblanchien and Corgoloin are carved out of the hard limestone of the Upper Bathonian. The vines of Fixin and Brochon are planted on the red-brown soils of the foothills, composed of alluvial mixed with stony limestone. The total area authorised to use this name for the wines made from these vines covers around 165 hectares (155 hectares of which are for
red wines).

The grapes are picked by hand, placed on a sorting table, crushed, de-stemmed, then vatted for around 15 days and matured in oak barrels for around 12 months.
